Dear Mervyn

You need to apply for change of use via URA. There are certain areas that are restricted to case by case approval. Part of the approval will be subject to fire safety requirements in which some shophouses will not pass without spending alot of money.

I've successfully done change of use for 2 shophouses, buut was rejected for others. If you are seriously looking, give me a call for a causal chat.

Hi Mervyn, many of the other property agents have already answered your question about change of use. Applying for change of use is not that simple, it involves submission of drawings and it takes time. An experienced agent will be able to size up if a property would get approval or not.
