Aged, damp feel, convenient, and tips for ten
I was a tenant of 993, stayed in a 3-bedroom unit on 7th floor for three years. The location is convenient. However, the unit did show signs of age, with some dampness and wear in fixtures and finishes — typical of older developments. Future tenants should be mindful of the move-out process. Despite having taken good care of the unit, we faced notable deductions from our deposit without receiving a detailed breakdown or official invoice/payment proof. Some charges appeared to cover wear and tear typical for an older unit, and were much higher than market average. Overall, while the living environment was generally fine, we recommend tenants keep detailed records and clarify move-out expectations early — especially for longer leases in older properties. -

Favourite Condo
I am an owner at 987. I like the swimming pool, restaurant, amenities n mist important King Albert MRT. I can get to Marina Bay shopping centre straight n in comfort. Happy owner for 15 years. -

Units are too dark
Have been living here almost 4 years, the units are very dark and filled up still air. Unless you get one of those rare penthouses, regular units are not efficient in the layout. Windows look out to trees blocking view, or the middle of your block compund. The layout does remind me of university dormitories. Another issue is lots of mosquitoes, you get bitten even when swimming at the pool. Most master bedroom toilets have no window, no exhaust fan, so imagine how dark a hole you walk into. Other than that, mgmt is decent. Kids can have fun, near to trains and good schools. -

Don't bother with this place
Units are old, and smell bad, most of the facilities are crumbling, walkways stairs, pool area tiles are constantly broken. Not at all child friendly, the type of place where a resident will complain to a guard if a child is observed having any sort of fun. -

An Owner's Honest Review
The utility and convenience of Maplewood have only gone up and up since I had it in 2009. The addition of Downtown Line, proximity to good schools, beautification of Bkt Timah, nearby shops are wonderful bonuses. And in the midst of this, old school condo SIZE, large swimming pools, tennis COURTS, gym all come together nicely for my family. -

One of the best freehold condominium
Large freehold condominium within 300m to MRT (Downtown line) at Bukit Timah Road and surrounded by greenery, top schools and universities. Good value for money whether you are buying or looking to rent a unit. -

Near Downtown Line
Good access to public transport. Old condo condition, overcrowded many units, rats and termites issue hard to rid off, leaking and frequent pipe clogging lead to foul smell and mould in toilets. -

Loved it here!
This is by far the best condo we stayed in 10 years! We love the greenery and spacious surroundings. One doesn’t feel ‘watched’ at the pool as the apartment blocks are built not too close to it. With the convenience of the MRT and buses, getting around is so easy especially for us who do not own a car. Altogether it is a very comfortable feel to live here. -
