I have rented out a couple of such HDB shophouse units and usually I would advice my landlord to rent the whole unit out together (level 1 and living quarter on the 2nd floor), so that the tenant will be the one applying and paying for the utility.

Hi,

It depends on the location too. Just to share that I rented out a HDB shophouse level 1 unit and the size is about 70 sqm and rental was at $3500 while the living quarter at level 2 which consist of 2 bedroom and liken to a 3 room HDB flat was rented out for $2500. The location is near to Kallang mrt.

As for the floor plan, my landlord purchased it from the HDB office.
