Hello

Payment of commission is dependent on what type of work u are getting the agt to do for u.
If the agent is running searches for ur , it is fair to pay the agent. Of course it is also dependent on the rental u are paying . if it is something above 8k and above, it is fair to pay the agent as he/she will definitely not be able to recommend u anything good as the landlord agt might not want to share his commission, when this happen, ur agt might not share this location with u as he dont get paid but it is a good location and u missed out on a good location. it is a delimma. You can nego with him and say u pay 6k max if required and it is up to ur agt if he want to strike the deal with u. I hope u follow what i m explaining

Having said that, if the agt is working for the retail mall. then u dont need to pay him as he is claiming from the mall. However. pls note that not all mall pay comm.

If you have not appointed an agent to serve you for this rental, you should not be paying for commission.
