The revamped i12 Katong mall offers a number of firsts, while welcoming a “portfolio of established lifestyle brands along with a refreshing mix of new concepts, dedicated art and sustainability zones, as well as a host of future-ready amenities”.
The mall – which closed for renovations in early 2020 – progressively reopened from 23 December, and will eventually feature 180 stores during its grand reopening in March 2022.
Keppel Land noted that the enhancement of i12 Katong is in line with its vision to be “a leader in redefining urban spaces for a sustainable future, including through improving its retail offerings and shaping them into future-ready, smart and sustainable retail hubs”.
Notably, the refreshed mall incorporates energy-efficient features like LED lighting and water-efficient fixtures. Electric vehicle chargers can also be found at its carpark.
It will also install a food digestor to break down discarded food and convert them into compost or liquid waste.
The mall will also welcome a number of “firsts”, such as Singapore’s first medical co-working space as well as the first dog club and daycare within a mall.
The mall’s returning anchor tenants include CS Fresh, United World Preschool and Golden Village, while new tenants include Huggs Collective, Janice Wong Singapore, IPPUDO, Malaysia Boleh, Prive, PS.Café, Re.juve as well as The Eton Academy.
The mall has collaborated with local gallery Sound of Art to feature a series of art exhibits.
Keppel Land’s Head of Retail Keith Low noted that the new mall “will present exciting, multi-experiential retail concepts and spaces that are powered by technology”.
In fact, it has partnered with M1 to transform i12 Katong into a 5G-enabled mall.
“The reopening of the enhanced i12 Katong is in line with Keppel Land’s vision and transformation from a traditional developer model and will also contribute to the Group’s recurring income, in line with Keppel’s Vision 2030,” he said.
