Silver Mountain Holiday Resort – Invest in a Romanian Winter Wonderland

A luxurious holiday resort in Romania is offering investors a great entry point into the Central and Eastern European (CEE) market.

Looking beyond opportunities offered by the Singaporean market, savvy investors are setting sights overseas to find beautiful properties in scenic locations, unlike anything they’ve ever seen in Singapore.

Located within the country’s most popular ski destination, Poiana Brasov, Silver Mountain Holiday Resort sees an influx of tourists from all over Europe each year. The property tempts investors with the chance to own a luxurious slice of a frosty paradise with a European property in one of the world’s most stunning natural landscapes.

A wealth of historical and tourist sites at your doorstep

One of the world’s most recognisable tourist attractions is situated close to Silver Mountain Holiday Resort. Bran Castle’s nickname, Dracula’s Castle, is one that you’ll recognize immediately. The medieval castle is purported to be the home of the famous vampire in Bram Stoker’s novel.

Other attractions in the vicinity include the imposing Brasov Fortress and Rasnov Citadel, the gothic Black Church and the Honterus Library with its collection of historical manuscripts.

These tourist sites not only add to the pleasure of staying at the resort but also make the area one which enjoys a steady flow of visitors, increasing the ease of renting out units on the property.

An exciting future awaits

Silver Mountain Holiday Resort covers 26.3 hectares of land. Of that area, 2.5 hectares are currently occupied by the existing infrastructure and 0.5 hectares are occupied by lush green area.

The remaining 23.3 hectares are still up for development and could be earmarked for future construction of other hospitality, leisure and entertainment facilities. The potential of the site is great, given its scenic location and healthy flow of tourists.

At present, the resort consists of four blocks of flats housing 171 apartment units. Each apartment unit is fully furnished and equipped with a suite of modern amenities for the comfort of guests.

Resort living is of course not complete without the opportunity to take a swim or sit down to a sumptuous restaurant meal. The resort is equipped with a range of leisure and entertainment facilities which enhance the experience of guests.

On the premises are a commercial building containing a restaurant which seats 140 people, a club which accommodates 200, as well as premium facilities like a spa centre, heated indoor swimming pool, heated infinity pool, jacuzzi, gym and dry and wet sauna. Business and event needs are also taken care of with a number of conference rooms.

With a massive 23.3 hectares of land slated for development, the sky is the limit for Silver Mountain Holiday Resort. Initial plans were put in place to build a slew of leisure and sports options for holidaymakers.

These plans are now being reviewed to determine if there are even better alternatives in store for future guests at Silver Mountain.

The resort is currently owned by Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR), a member of Erste Group and also Romania’s biggest bank. BCR is seeking the right investor to acquire the entire project.

Why invest in Romania?

Romania is an affordable option for investors who wish to enter the European market but are deterred by the high prices and stagnant growth in Western European countries.

Romania is one of the CEE’s strongest states in terms of predicted economic growth and investment volumes. The Romanian housing market is also enjoying strong growth, with steadily increasing property prices and demand. Home prices in all the major cities increased in 2015. Moreover, the local tourism market recorded in 2015 a significant increase in both the number of tourists and the number of nights spent in accommodation facilities, compared to 2014.

Romania also has the advantage of being situated close to wealthy countries in Western Europe, a prime position that enables the country to benefit from tourist spending.

As Romania is seen as one of Europe’s most promising developing economies, a positive outlook can be expected for investments in Silver Mountain Holiday Resort.
