Sin Thai Hin cheap but old...
The Sin Thai Hin Building is probably older than some of those who stay there. Very typical 1980s building, with commercial units below and residential units on top. Freehold is a plus point. Saw a unit here priced at about $600k, affordable compared to similar housing in this area (but those are newer). If you don't mind the age of the building, the location at Prinsep is very convenient. Alternatively, good option to buy as rental yield from those working or studying nearby has upside potential. -

Ideal for students
Very near the NAFA campus as Sin Thai Hin Building is located along Prinsep Street. A lot of things to do in this area, with affordable food options at Waterloo, vegetarian at Fortune Centre, hawker centre and market at Albert St, shopping and movie at Bugis Junction and Bugis+. Price point is very affordable for students too, only thing is that there are only 10 residential units available in this building with old-style office units below. -

Central and artsy
Basic but at central location. Property cost lower, but old so likely must spend more on renovation/maintenance. Best thing is many amenities in 1km radius. Located at a quiet street in an otherwise busy area. There are some bars at Prinsep but this building relatively away from the "happening" area. Student-centric area and located near various art schools, museums, etc. Cultural and laidback vibe. -
