It is also home to some of the oldest shophouses in Singapore as Chinatown was the place where many early immigrants settled. The entrance to Mosque street has always been adorned with traditional shophouses and quaint curio shops.

The interior of this property is crafted to blend Islamic artistry and motifs with the traditional Chinese architectural styles prevalent in the area. Today, Mosque Street is home to a mix of Chinese eateries, Korean, Japanese restaurants, art galleries, hotels and backpackers’ hostels such as Porcelain Hotel Singapore, Hotel Mono and Zen Hostel, a popular hangout for tourists and locals.
